Cultural Night at Daycroft Montessori School

Daycroft Preprimary Students Perform "Safari Adventure," a Celebration of the World's Wildlife in Words and Songs

ANN ARBOR, MI (February 20, 2009) – Yesterday's Cultural Night program at Daycroft Montessori School was a fun, enlightening, and music-filled "Safari Adventure." Preschool and kindergarten students from Daycroft's preprimary campus on Oakbrook Drive temporarily took over the gymnasium at Daycroft's elementary campus on Zeeb Road to introduce an audience of their families and friends to the animals of the world's continents through words and songs.

Daycroft families contributed dishes from their native countries to be shared after the program. In keeping with Daycroft's "green school" commitment, families used their own plates and silverware, and brought beverages in recyclable containers.

Cultural Night provided an opportunity to observe Daycroft's educational approach in action. The "Safari Adventure" program occurred on Thursday, February 19 from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Before the program from 6:00 to 6:30 pm, and after the program from 7:30 to 8:00 pm, attendees toured Daycroft's Zeeb campus and met the school's teachers and administrators.
