“Montessori Fundays” to Help Parents and Children Explore Daycroft Montessori School’s Distinctive Student-Centered Approach to Learning
Parents Will Observe Their Children Ages 18 Months to Three Years in Five-week Series of Introductory Lessons Using Montessori Materials at Daycroft’s Preprimary Campus
Ann Arbor, MI (December 3, 2009) – Parents and their children ages 18 months to three years will explore how learning can be fun at “Montessori Fundays” – a five-week series of twice-weekly, one-hour introductory lessons beginning next month at Daycroft Montessori School of Ann Arbor.
Montessori Fundays will happen on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 to 10:00 am at Daycroft’s Preprimary Campus on Oakbrook Drive. Lessons are scheduled for January 12, 14, 19, 21, 26, and 28, and February 2, 4, 9, and 11.
Parents will observe as Daycroft teachers guide their children through sample lessons using Montessori materials. “Our aim,” said Michele Buchanan, associate head of school at Daycroft’s Preprimary Campus, “is to give parents a sense of how Daycroft provides a highly personalized education in a warm, nurturing environment. Montessori Fundays should help parents see that Daycroft is a place where their children will love to learn.”
Buchanan added, “At Daycroft, we share Maria Montessori’s belief that children learn best when they learn in their own way and at their own pace. Education here is student-centered. We appreciate our students’ differences and accommodate their individual learning styles.”
The cost for Montessori Fundays is $100 per child for the complete five-week series of 10 one-hour sessions. Registration will be limited to 10 children.
Parents can get more information, and register their children, by calling Michele Buchanan at Daycroft’s Preprimary Campus at (734) 930-0333.
