A Letter of Appreciation from Daycroft Parents

Chris and Chevon Rogers, parents of Cooper Rogers, a second-grader at Daycroft Montessori School, recently sent this letter to Diane Mukkala, our head of school. We thought we’d share the letter with you. It brings together so much of what parents often describe to us as “the Daycroft difference.” Perhaps you’ll see in this letter what can make our school a special place for your child’s education too.

Hi, Diane,

We hope this letter finds you well. We just wanted to send you a quick letter regarding Cooper and his Daycroft experience thus far.

Like all parents, Cooper means everything to us. It’s important that we do everything we can to help him. Decisions we make regarding him are always, what we consider to be, in his best interest.

We’ve simply been amazed by the changes we’ve seen in Cooper this year at Daycroft. We can probably attribute some of his growth to maturation, but honestly we feel that it’s mostly due to the great work Diane and Jeanine have been able to accomplish with him this year. Both of them are beyond fantastic. It’s refreshing to see people who truly love what they do and do it so well. The energy and love they bring is contagious and real.

We know we still have a ways to go, but we feel confident we’re providing Cooper with the enthusiasm, encouragement, and confidence he needs to be successful in the future. At home in the evening, when I ask him how his day was, he always gives me one of two answers: great or fantastic. It’s night and day from where we were at the end of last year. He’s excited to talk about school now, and can’t wait to show us the work he’s brought home. That means everything to us. He’s gaining confidence as well as independence and is loving learning.

We also know that our switch to Daycroft would not have been possible without the initial help from both yourself and Greg. We can’t thank you enough for working with us to make it happen.

Overall, our experience at Daycroft has been fantastic – all the way from the teachers, to the students, and on to the other parents. We’ve met some wonderful people and couldn’t be happier with our experience this year.

Chevon and I both have no doubt that sending Cooper Daycroft was the best decision we could have made for him. It truly is a special place.

Thanks again for everything, and we look forward to starting another year with Daycroft.
