Daycroft’s Lunch Program

Lunch is an important part of the students’ day at Daycroft Montessori School – and not just for nutrition. Students at the Oakbrook preprimary campus eat lunch in their classroom, practicing the grace and courtesy lessons they have learned during class time. After lunch, students go either to the nap room to rest, or to the “wake-up room” for additional activity.

At the Zeeb elementary campus, students eat in the multi-purpose room, sitting at round tables in groups of six to practice the courteous manners they have learned in the classroom settings. Individual place settings, proper use of napkins, and conversation with friends are normal parts of the lunch.
