"I enjoy how there is always something fun and educational to do, and sometimes even parties!"
—Nicole, grade 5
- Aces-with-a-Friend Field Day – This takes place annually and is part of our physical education program. The elementary campus participates with the national Aces-with-a-Friend day, and the primary campus has Field Day.
- All-School Year-End Carnival – Finish the year with a carnival! It’s a great chance to play games, say goodbye to some friends, and make plans with other friends for the summer. Sponsored by the Daycroft Parent Guild.
- All-School Fall Social – Sponsored by the Daycroft Parent Guild, this is a time to see old friends and make new ones. Where: our Zeeb campus. Bring a picnic dinner. The ice cream treats and temporary tattoos are on us.
- Book Fair Week – Get your spring reading started. This annual event, hosted by the Daycroft Parent Guild, offers the Daycroft community a wide selection of books to purchase for their home libraries, a particular classroom library, or as gifts. A percentage of the proceeds benefits the libraries at both Daycroft campuses.
- Classroom Field Trips – Classrooms schedule various field trips throughout the school year. Field trips have included Hudson Mills Metropark, Wild Swan Theater, fire station visits, and the one-room schoolhouse at Greenfield Village.
- Classroom Open Houses – Scheduled annually by each class, these open houses give Daycroft parents an opportunity to learn more about Montessori techniques and principles of learning.
- Culture Day – The children present some of what they have learned about a particular cultural theme studied in depth.
- End-of-Year 5th/6th Grade Trip – Daycroft’s fifth- and sixth-grade students take an extended excursion to several locations to extend classroom learning.
- Fifties Day – This annual celebration – quite often a sock hop – celebrates the 50th day of school.

- Historical Halloween – Our first- and second-grade classes host presentations for family and friends.
- Monster Mash – Hosted by the Daycroft Parents’ Association at our Zeeb Road campus, this is our not-to-be-missed annual Halloween party and fundraiser. Games, music, foods, crafts, and treats. There’s even a “Mini-Mash” for our younger ghosts and goblins.
- Oakbrook Year-End Celebration – This is a special send-off just for the young’uns at our Oakbrook Drive primary school. It’s the time to say goodbye to friends or make plans for summer fun. Hosted by the Daycroft Parent Guild.
- Oakbrook Fall Kick-Off – Get to know the teachers, staff, and families for those attending our primary school on Oakbrook Drive. Ice cream and fun are provided for all.
- School Spirit Days – Students and staff are invited to have fun cheering the spirit of Daycroft by wearing school clothes and/or accessories bearing the school logo. This event, hosted by the Daycroft Parent Guild, happens on both Daycroft campuses. Watch for our sale on branded items in the coming months.
