1st-2nd Multi-Grade Classroom Teacher

This is a co-teaching position in a multi aged classroom. Teachers in this classroom work collaboratively to implement our mission which is to provide a personalized learning environment which appreciates individual differences, nurtures the whole child, and enables students to develop at their own pace and achieve to their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Co-manage all a spects of the classroom with teacher partner
  • Teach multiple subjects with an emphasis on the math and science curriculum
  • Individualize the curriculum and lessons to enhance students’ learning potential
  • Provide support to students who need to be accelerated or have learning challenges
  • Communicate effectively with parents and problem-solve issues, when needed.
  • Collaborate with our 3rd-4th grade teachers to understand their requirements so our 2nd grade students are prepared for the transition to 3rd grade.

Requirements

  • Four year degree in education
  • Teaching certification
  • Math and science major and/or experience
  • 2-5 years teaching experience
  • Montessori elementary certification (preferred)
