Grades 1-2

In the 1-2 classroom, math is taught using traditional Montessori materials.  Over the two-year period, our goal is to move students from using hands-on manipulative materials in first grade, to incorporating a more abstract approach to learning in second grade.  Math is taught mostly through one-on-one lessons.  This allows the teacher to cater to each child’s needs.
